The LAW breaking the LAW

Law enforcement officers are not above the law—yet many violate it with impunity. We work to expose the systemic injustices of the prison system by revealing the truth: naming each officer involved and documenting their history of misconduct through Freedom of Information Act records and firsthand accounts from incarcerated witnesses.

Beaten while handcuffed

Members of the incarcerated community are currently witnessing correctional officers assaulting handcuffed individuals—punching them in the face, kicking them, and forcefully slamming them to the ground. In the absence of body cameras, officers act with impunity, unchecked and unaccountable

Funded for EOP, No EOP Services

Despite receiving designated funding for Enhanced Outpatient Programs (EOP) and mental health services, prisons are failing to deliver meaningful care. Instead of providing rehabilitative support, incarcerated individuals are placed in rooms to watch movies—an inadequate substitute for the treatment and programming they are entitled to.

The Challenges Within the RVR Process

The RVR (Rules Violation Report) process is fundamentally flawed, creating significant barriers for incarcerated individuals seeking fairness and accountability. Despite the existence of procedures like the 602 grievance filings, these systems often lack real power to address wrongful actions effectively. What seems to be presented as a fair and impartial process is, in reality, overshadowed by systemic issues that favor correctional officers, even when clear evidence points to misconduct. This imbalance leaves those who are incarcerated without sufficient resources or support, reinforcing a cycle of injustice within the system. Meaningful reform is necessary to ensure true equity and fairness for all involved.
